It Ain't Heavy, It's My Tuna
If you are ever tempted to buy tuna from an upscale deli counter, please be aware that tuna has lots of mass. People like it, though.
What I actually brought on my celebratory picnic: pita, red pepper hummus, eggplant spread (not baba ganoush but a darker, more eggplanty substance), peaches, the aforementioned tuna, Kettle salt and freshly ground pepper potato chips, way too many grapes, which turned out later to be predominantly sour, vegan German chocolate cookies, apple juice, and Newman's pink lemonade.
It turns out that the Newman company thinks that high fructose corn syrup is included in 'roadside' lemonade, something of which Nell would no doubt not approve. It was mighty tasty over ice in the 90-degree heat, however. The chips also went fast. As, N. said, does "any fried starch product." Their cracked pepper flavor was not quite as strong as the Popchips I had last week, but the popchip base tastes a bit like styrofoam.
