More Football Idiocy

Apryl Delancey of Women Like Sports, which unlike WSB spends a lot of time talking about mainstream sports and thus football, reports that she too got that 'beat your boyfriend at fantasy football' email.  She comments that the targeting of the message to female bloggers is completely idiotic.  Since I made an error in my first reply address and it bounced, I made sure to add in the second that it's analagous to sending something to presumed African-American-owned addresses that said 'you're black so you don't know about X, let us teach you.' WTF?  Also, if women don't play fantasy football in large numbers it could be because of things like how macho the whole enterprise is, how it rewards selfishness over team loyalty, and is geared toward someone who has the time and priorities to spend hours on minutiae.  These are, of course, not immutable 'male' characteristics but they are extremely gender-coded in our society.
