Driving on El Camino Real the other day I was quite excited to have ended up behind a car with Indiana plates and a Purdue Boilermakers plate cover. I contemplated passing them and getting their attention. Then I noticed the plate was our 'screw the separation of church and state' vanity model, the one that very pointedly says 'In God We Trust.' That'll show us pesky First Amendment supporters. Then the car turned into the Taco Bell, the one that never has any customers because it's a block away from a very prominently marked, very authentic taqueria. But thank goodness for chain restaurants, because now travel outside your state doesn't have to mean travel outside your comfort zone.
