I know I said sorbet is a comparable, much lower-cost option if you're looking for a non-dairy frozen dessert. But having had a lot of sorbet since then, I have to say that the goat's milk ice cream approximates the texture and taste of 'regular' ice cream much more closely. It's still not suitable for vegans and it still costs a fortune, but it's in a different class from even really good sorbet.
